About Me

My name is Boris Karavasilev and I have been working on this tool in my spare time throughout 2023. Since my graduation from the IT University of Copenhagen in January 2024 I have been working on Word Gains full-time.

I have been studying Danish at a language school for over 2 years and often used Google Translate. I missed the option to save my translations and systematically practice them. In my last semester of university, I studied the problems foreigners have when learning Danish and what software tools they use. This study showed that most of the foreigners that I interviewed also struggled with vocabulary, pronunciation and successfully using Danish outside of the classroom. They also liked the combination of a translator with flash cards.

Now I pursue my vision of creating a high-quality learning tool that empowers non-native speakers to use Danish outside of the class room by growing their confidence and vocabulary.
